Carhartt WIP Showroom & UK Office - A New Creative Home in Hackney Wick
A dual-level workspace and showroom that blends industrial heritage with future-facing flexibility.
A Landmark Victorian Shell Meets Modern Design Thinking
Carhartt WIP’s new UK headquarters is located in the heart of Hackney Wick, East London’s most vibrant creative district. Occupying the top two floors of a 4000 sq ft Victorian factory building, the project restores a rare industrial relic within an area transformed by regeneration.
An Office Space Designed for Focus and Flexibility
The 2000 sq ft second floor houses the brand’s UK office, including desk spaces, kitchen, meeting rooms, and casual seating areas. The design palette, featuring whitewashed Douglas fir, galvanised, perforated steel and white laminated birch ply, is clean, modern and deeply tied to Carhartt’s utilitarian DNA.
Large perforated steel screens double as acoustic baffles and zoning elements, while an abundance of indoor plants introduces softness and biophilic warmth. A standout moment: a bespoke sofa in reclaimed army canvas by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek anchors the breakout area. Overhead, a large neon silhouette from the Carhartt archives adds a bold visual signature.
A Flexible with Panoramic views and Purposeful Simplicity
The third floor is home to a 2000 sq ft showroom with panoramic views across East London and the Olympic Park. Designed around low-level, reconfigurable fixtures, the layout takes full advantage of the space’s cathedral-like proportions and maintains clear sightlines throughout.
Plants once again soften the industrial backdrop, this time elevated by a central indoor tree, a sculptural gesture that adds verticality and drama to the space.
A Space Built for Longevity and Seasonal Evolution
All showroom furniture and fixtures are modular and mobile, allowing the space to adapt with each new season and collection drop. This future-flexibility ensures that Carhartt WIP’s new UK home can continue to evolve, reflect brand progression, and support both creative and commercial goals for years to come.
